Winsford couple can keep dog which bit man at Chester hospice

MAGISTRATES have spared the life of a Winsford dog which ran from its owners to bite a man at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd. The hearing at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday, January 29, ruled on the fate of German shepherd Raydar, a rescue dog who leapt up and bit victim Jordan Caroe in both arms. The resulting injuries led Mr Caroe to be hospitalised for two nights and he was signed off work due to four puncture wounds in his left arm and a single puncture wound in his right arm. But the court heard owners Robert Andrew Horswill, 58 and Lynn Waterhouse, 58, both of Grange Lane, Winsford, were extremely apologetic and had taken a number of steps to prevent any repeat incident.
