$7.25 Million To Be Used To Expand Broadband Access In Bradley, Meigs And Polk Counties Thursday, February 4, 2021
Many unserved areas of rural Tennessee are slated to receive a major upgrade in broadband internet service. This week Charter Communications (Spectrum) announced it will invest $92.9 million to expand service to more than 79,000 locations in the Volunteer State.
Senators Mike Bell, Todd Gardenhire and State Representative Dan Howell have announced that $7.25 million will be used to expand broadband access in Bradley, Meigs and Polk Counties. The three lawmakers have been at the forefront of efforts increase connectivity to rural Tennessee for a number of years. While they have seen some success “the announcement by Charter is somewhat of a game changer” Howell said.
