The addition of online sports gambling for Pennsylvania customers comes at a time the Alabama-based hospitality company is looking to make up lost revenue as it remains closed through Jan. 4 per Gov. Tom Wolf’s coronavirus mitigation order.
On Dec. 10, Wolf announced a three-week halt to indoor drinking and dining, closed gyms, entertainment venues and shut the state’s casinos. Wind Creek committed to paying its staff through the shutdown, although it laid off about 20% of its workers amid declining revenues.

Wind Creek Bethlehem plans to pay its 1,600 employees over 3-week state shutdown

At midnight, Wind Creek Bethlehem will close for the second time this year, but it plans to continue to pay its active employee throughout the three-week shutdown.
Amid surging COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths, Gov. Tom Wolf on Thursday ordered the state’s casino to close as part of his latest targeted mitigation effort, which goes into effect 12:01 a.m. Saturday and lasts until 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4.
The state’s casinos have been operating at 50% capacity since they reopened in June after the first state shutdown. River Casinos Philadelphia was shutdown by the city Nov. 20.
