The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recently caught a 108.8 kilograms sturgeon which is believed to be over 100 years old. The fish was caught in the Detroit River.
The agency posted on Facebook that the real life river monster was nearly 7 feet (2.1 meters) long. The pic of the fish has now gone viral on social media.

The 240-pound, nearly 7 foot long fish, assumed to be a female was quickly released back into the river after being weighed and measured into the river.

Scientists from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service last month hooked into a monster a 6-foot-10, 240-pound lake sturgeon estimated to be at least 100 years old during their annual study of the Detroit River’s sturgeon population near Grosse Ile in Michigan.

If this sturgeon had sneakers and slippery post moves, she could dominate the basketball world.
She already has the pro-style size at 6 feet, 10 inches and 240 pounds. But her age might be an issue. She’s probably older than 100, officials say.
The “river monster,” presumed to be female, was captured by a crew surveying the Detroit River near Grosse Ile in Michigan last week, the Alpena Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office wrote on Facebook. Not surprisingly, it’s one of the biggest lake sturgeon ever caught in the U.S., according to the office.
