The chest puffs a bit to see Atlanta rising to the occasion of another Stonewall Month. This week’s Q ATLus print magazine is all about the celebration.
After the year our city and the world has had, we deserve it. You know who else deserves it? All the gaybies and queer-questioning youth, all the closeted queers, and yes all the haters who just can’t stand change or justice, who watch us fly our authentic flags.
The cover story lays out more than a dozen Stonewall special events this month.
From there, 10 Q Things takes us down memory lane with 10 queer quotes from LGBTQ luminaries through the years, and one Atlanta gay man thinks it’s time to hang up his gold booty shorts in Q Advice.

On the one hand, LGBTQ people long to be recognized for more than our sexuality. On the other, we still want our sex lives to be open, joyful and free from stigma. Those two coexisting concepts are on proud display in this week’s issue of Q ATLus magazine.
Both are definitely front and center in our cover story. Audiences get an eyeful and a heartful when Out Front Theatre’s “timeless and timely” show
Jerker opens next week.
More multi-faceted LGBTQ lives hit homes and cinema screens in Q Film. We have a rundown of the biggest titles on Atlanta Film Festival’s Pink Peach track. The festival opens Thursday and runs through May 2.

The Q ATLus cover features a scene from the gay-themed Sublet at the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival.
Virtual and distanced, two film festivals turn their lights and cameras toward Atlanta and are ready for action. Q ATLus magazine highlights all of the LGBTQ offerings at one world-class venerable event and at a burgeoning brand new one.
The Q spotlight also shines on 10 ways to nurture and perpetuate queer culture. Then the limelight turns to a queen who’s more than comfortable there: Bianca Del Rio is in town this weekend.
