Celebrity Cruises this week announced that three of its ships will resume sailing in the Galapagos later this summer.
Celebrity will return to the Galapagos first with Celebrity Flora, the brand’s state-of-the-art mega-yacht, on July 4, and then will follow with Celebrity Xpedition on July 24 and Celebrity Xploration on Sept. 18.
All sailings will move forward with vaccinated crew and adult guests. Those under the age of 18-years-old can sail with a negative PCR test. Each sailing will also have to abide by the local requirements for entry to Ecuador and the Galapagos.

The Galapagos Islands is a volcanic archipelago nestled in the Pacific Ocean and is considered one of the best destinations for unique wildlife viewing.
Set in the Pacific Ocean, 1,000 km off the coast of Ecuador, this volcanic archipelago is one of the world’s premier destinations for viewing unique wildlife. The UNESCO World HeritageList destination offers 19 islands and a marine reserve that has been named a
“living museum and showcase of evolution.”
Due to the ongoing seismic and volcanic activity in the islands, as well as the extreme isolation of the archipelago, unusual animal life has developed here. This includes the giant tortoise, the land iguana, and a variety of finches. This unusual and unique animal life inspired Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution by natural selection when he visited in 1835.
