Iconic French electronic music duo Daft Punk announced they are calling it quits after almost three decades.
The pair behind some of the biggest dance and pop hits of all time broke the news with an enigmatic eight-minute video titled “Epilogue” on their YouTube channel, reports The Independent.
The clip is an excerpt from their 2006 science-fiction film “Electroma” and features the duo bidding adieu to each other in their quintessential robot costumes, with one of them self-destructing.

Pitchfork reports that their long-time publicist Kathryn Frazier confirmed the news of the split, with no reason being given.

Variety quoted their publicist as saying on Monday, ending a 28-year collaboration that spawned dance hits including
Around the World and
One More Time.
The group, known for performing while dressed as robots in metallic helmets, posted a video on YouTube entitled
Epilogue, with an image that flashed on screen bearing the dates 1993-2021.
Variety quoted their publicist, Kathryn Frazier, as saying they had split, but without providing details. Frazier s firm did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
