On New Year’s Eve, an old Irish tradition is to open your door at midnight and let the Old Year out and the New Year in. Maybe we should consider adding all doors, windows, and garage doors this year. We’re all hoping and praying that 2021 will be peaceful and healthier for us all. None of us are the same today as we were a year ago, the pandemic and all of its repercussions has made permanent changes in how we feel and react, and I think it’s helped us all re-prioritize our lives and the relationships we share with our families and loved ones. I pray only the positive aspects of living through this will linger on.
Despite recent decline, Idaho medical expert concerned about post-holiday COVID-19 infection spike

BOISE, Idaho Although 2021 is days away, the last two months have been the worst of the year for COVID-19 infection, in Idaho and across the country. Idaho s daily case count peaked in early December, recording as many as 2,000 new cases per day.
Over the past few weeks, however, the daily case count in Idaho has been decreasing. Despite this, Dr. Kathryn Turner, Idaho s deputy state epidemiologist is concerned about what the new year could mean for infection rates.

This year is nearly on the books and what was normal last year, isn’t and may never be again. We have all changed and we are not the same as we were this time last year. I for one have lost a very dear friend and I mourn her passing daily. We have all learned to treasure our family and loved ones in a new and different way. We are learning to cherish those in our lives and take nothing for granted. Christmas is about re-birth and beginning anew. Please celebrate the coming of the Christ Child and the promises and hope He gives us all. Merry Christmas, My Friends!
A long time ago in Germany, a mother was cleaning for Christmas. Spiders fled up to the attic to escape the broom. On quiet Christmas Eve, the spiders slowly came down for a peek. “Oh, what a beautiful tree!”
In excitement, they scurried up and out along each branch. They were filled with happiness as they climbed amongst the glittering beauty. But alas! By the time they were done, the tree was shrouded in their dusty grey web.
When Santa came with gifts for the children and saw the tree covered with spider webs, he smiled because he saw how happy the spiders were but knew how heartbroken the mother would be if she saw it covered in dusty webs. So, he turned the webs to strands of silver and the tree was even more beautiful than before.

The gifts represent the three gifts the wise men brought for baby Jesus.
So, when you are running around trying to find the “perfect gift”, stop yourself, take a deep breath and remember, we have been given the perfect gift, Jesus Christ was given to us to remove all of our sins. Amen! Merry Christmas!
