Officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries near Orchard Street’s intersection with Charles Street in the Dixwell neighborhood around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Capt. Anthony Duff said in an email. “Arriving emergency responders found a GMC Terrain sport utility vehicle crashed into a utility pole. An unconscious operator remained trapped in the heavily damaged SUV,” Duff said. “The New Haven Fire Department extricated the 42-year-old man from the wreck.”
