When in distress, citizens are naturally inclined to turn towards their political leaders for understanding, guidance and direction. This is something that the K-P Health Minister, Taimur Saleem Jhagra, should have considered before violating coronavirus SOPs at an iftar dinner he recently attended. As seen in pictures posted on social media, dozens of people present were not following social distancing protocols. Many of them were seen without masks, including the minister himself. While the Peshawar Assistant Commissioner took swift action on the matter, Jhagra maintains he wasn’t aware of the location nor the number of people attending.

PESHAWAR: Accompanied by two MPAs, the relatives of a boy, who succumbed to his injuries at the Hayatabad Medical Complex late Friday night, ransacked the health facility.
An official said a young boy identified as Umar hailing from Jamrud was brought to the hospital where he died. The official said the relatives staged a protest and ransacked the properties. One MPA from Khyber and another female MPA from Peshawar led the protesters. A police official said they were investigating the matter after they were approached by the authorities.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – A case has been lodged against Health Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Taimur Khan Jhagra for openly flouting coronavirus related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
According to details, pictures of an Iftar dinner which attended by KP Health Minister went viral on social media. COVID-related SOPs and social distancing were openly neglected in the party.
The cases were registered against Taimur Saleem Jhagra, restaurant manager and its owner for flouting the SOPs on the complaint of Assistant Commissioner Adil Ayub.
