KP Govt Announces Rs. 2 Billion Package for Gas Supply in Karak Chief Minister (CM) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Mahmood Khan, has announced a package of Rs. 2 billion for a gas supply project in District Karak of the Kohat Division. The CM addressed gatherings at Makh Banda and Banda Daud Shah during which he declared that the residents of southern districts have the right to the oil and gas royalty funds, which is why the provincial government has launched the Karak Area Development Project. ALSO READ CM Khan also revealed the provincial government’s plan of spending Rs. 9 billion on different developmental projects in District Karak during the next four years, adding that a project for the supply of clean drinking water from Lawaghar Dam to Karak city is also in the pipeline.

Top Story January 1, 2021 KARAK: The police on Thursday arrested 31 people, including a local leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), for attacking and burning the shrine of a Hindu saint in Teri area of Karak district the previous day. Enraged protesters had attacked and set on fire the Samadhi (shrine) of Shri Paramhans Jee Maharaj on Wednesday as they objected to its expansion. The police sources said Rehmat Salam Khattak, a leader of Maulana Fazlur Rehman-headed JUI-F, was arrested by the police from his house in Chokara area of Takht-i-Nusrati Tehsil as he had allegedly participated in a meeting before the attack on the shrine. Khattak had joined the JUI-F after quitting the PML-N and unsuccessfully contesting election on its ticket.

Site selected for salt and gypsum city in Karak Peshawar December 16, 2020 KARAK: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has identified land for establishing a salt and gypsum city in the district to explore the resources to create more job opportunities. “The Khyber Pakht-unkhwa Economic Zone Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC) has been tasked with accomplishing the ambitious initiative, which will ensure a constant supply of gypsum and salt to the market,” said an official. Chief Executive officer of the company, Javed Khattak, told reporters that the site was selected as a site on main old Bannu Road in Banda Daud Shah tehsil.
