We Energies and Wisconsin Public Service are proposing to buy a planned solar and battery-storage project in Dane County.
The planned project is estimated to cost $469 million and would consist of 300 megawatts of solar power and 165 megawatts of battery storage.
The project if approved by state regulators would be the largest renewable energy project in the state.
We Energies and WPS would own 90% of the project and Madison Gas and Electric would own 10%.
It is the third large-scale solar power and battery storage project announced by We Energies and WPS, both part of WEC Energy Group, and Madison Gas and Electric this year.

Since March 16, when eight people were killed and one wounded at three Atlanta-area spas, the United States has had at least 50 mass shootings, according to CNN reporting and an analysis of data from the Gun Violence Archive (GVA), local media and police reports.
