The bronze figure of the 17th century slave trader was toppled during a Black Lives Matter protest in Bristol city centre on June 7, 2020. And it will go on display at the museum on Princes Wharf nearly a year afterwards, on June 4. It will be a temporary exhibit with a survey asking people what should happen to the statue.
