Snoqualmie Pass has been closed between North Bend and Ellensburg since around 4 p.m. Monday due to extreme avalanche danger and heavy snowfall.
More than 100 semitrucks lined the interstate Tuesday morning waiting for the the pass to reopen.
Officials evaluated conditions at 8 a.m. and said the pass would remain closed. The next evaluation will be at noon.
The Washington State Department of Transportation said Monday was a busy day clearing more than a foot of snow, dealing with crashes and doing avalanche control work after 30 inches of snow built up at the summit since Friday.
