SSCâs journey to and above the 300-mph mark has been marred with setbacks and controversy. First, in October of 2020, the company filmed what it said was a record run, but after YouTubers tore the footage apart, it admitted there had been a mistake on the âediting sideâ and the car had not in fact reached the 331-mph (532-km/h) mark.Â
