Suit alleges tenant in Dierbergs plaza failed to pay rent since July 2019

EDWARDSVILLE A nail salon operator in Edwardsville Crossing shopping center is facing a suit alleging it has failed to pay rent and other fees since July of 2019.  Caplaco Thirty-Four Inc., and Dierbergs Edwardsville LLC filed a complaint April 8 in Madison County Circuit Court against Nguyet Nguyen alleging breach of lease.  According to the plaintiffs complaint, Nguyen entered into a lease agreement in January of 2007, for the lease of a premises in the Edwardsville Crossing Shopping Center and in March of 2018, signed an amendment to extend the lease until July 31, 2022.  Goldenberg The plaintiffs allege they became the landlord under the lease agreement on March 31, 2018, and that they have performed all of the conditions required of them under the lease. Law firm leases a Tundra, sues Toyota over echo on hands-free phone

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (Legal Newsline) – An Illinois law firm wants to be the lead plaintiff in a class action lawsuit against Toyota over an alleged echo in its hands-free phone system. Adam B. Lawler Law Firm is the plaintiff in the April 1 lawsuit, though it is represented by three other law firms. The firm leased a Tundra and is seeking to represent a class of others who purchased or leased a Toyota with the alleged defect. Representing the Lawler firm are Goldenberg Heller, Law Office of Richard S. Cornfeld and Arias Sanguinetti. “The echo defect makes continuation of the phone conversation impossible to maintain, meaning Plaintiff and Class Members have therefore purchased or leased vehicles with hands-free phone systems that are virtually unusable,” the lawsuit says.

Edwardsville accused of causing flooding during park construction

Shelton EDWARDSVILLE An Edwardsville couple claims dirt and construction debris coming from property owned by the city during construction of a park has caused flooding and other damage to their adjoining property. Janet Long and John Long filed a complaint  Feb. 2 in the Madison County Circuit Court against the City of Edwardsville.  According to their complaint, the Longs own more than 46 acres of property on Long Branch Drive in Edwardsville, which is next to a parcel of land owned by the city. The plaintiffs allege that the City of Edwardsville has failed to abide by guidelines under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System during its construction of a city park that began in February 2019.
