For 19 of the seniors at the NCAA women’s golf regional in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Wednesday, their collegiate career ended with a man who made an announcement on The University Club’s clubhouse stairs.

For Mississippi State women s golf coach Charlie Ewing and his team, it s a question that might never have an answer after the Bulldogs didn t get the chance to compete at the Baton Rouge Regional this week. The NCAA declared that The University Club course was playable, but not at a championship caliber . As a result, the top six seeds at the event automatically advanced to the NCAA Championships. But as for everyone else, including State, those seasons came to an unceremonious end. MSU came into the Baton Rouge Regional on the heels of a second-place finish at the Southeastern Conference Championships. It was the team s best-ever finish at the event. The Bulldogs went to Baton Rouge with a ton of momentum and high aspirations. They left with nothing but disappointment and questions after not getting to play any golf at all. 

Perico Selected to Play in 2021 Arnold Palmer Cup

Mike Cawood May 4, 2021 FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas junior Julian Perico has been selected to play for Team International at the 2021 Arnold Palmer Cup, it was announced today by the Golf Coaches Association of America on GOLF Channel. The 25th annual event features the top collegiate golfers from around the world, is set for June 11-13 and will be played at Rich Harvest Farms (Sugar Grove, Ill.). Perico will join fellow Razorback Brooke Matthews at the Palmer Cup. Matthews, who will represent Team USA, was one of the first three women and among the first six overall selected to participate on Mar. 3, 2021. The last time Arkansas had a male and a female participate in the same Arnold Palmer Cup was 2018 when Alvaro Ortiz (Mexico) and Maria Fassi (Mexico) played for Team International.
