BESSEMER The Bessemer Police Department is investigating after a deadly shooting early on Wednesday, March 10, 2021.
Cory Lamont Peterson, 35, was shot during a reported assault at the Red Roof Inn, according to Jefferson County Coroner Bill Yates. The shooting happened just after midnight.
Peterson was taken to UAB Medical West Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:38 a.m.
