Two abducted persons found tortured to death in Lyari and Korangi

The bodies of four people, including two abducted persons, were found in parts of the city on Sunday. According to the Baghdadi police, the body of a teenage boy was found at a garbage dump in Lyari’s Slaughter House locality.
The police said rescuers transported the body to Karachi’s Civil Hospital for medico-legal formalities. According to SHO Jamal Leghari, the deceased was identified as 16-year-old Abdur Rehman, son of Hanif.
The police said the deceased was tortured to death by unidentified kidnappers who had also thrown acid on the victim. The boy had been abducted about ten days ago and a kidnapping case had been registered at the Chakiwara police station, the police said, adding that it was yet to be ascertained why he had been kidnapped and later killed.
Teenage boy arrested over child’s rape in Korangi

Police on Saturday arrested a teenage boy because he had allegedly raped a toddler in the Korangi locality of Karachi, according to an official of the law enforcement agency.
The Korangi Industrial Area police official said that a 14-year-old boy has been arrested because he is believed to have sexually assaulted a two-and-a-half-year-old boy in Allah Wala Town.
Quoting the statement of the father of the victim, police said the man was at work when he got a phone call from his wife, who told him that their son had been at the neighbour’s house to play.
60 phones snatched a day in city

As many as 60 people on average were robbed of their mobile phones in the metropolis each day this year.
The Citizen-Police Liaison Committee s crime statistics for 2020 show that 20,054 mobile phones were snatched in Karachi over the past 11 months.
The highest number of snatchings occurred in September with 2,510 mobile phones snatched. October saw 2,180 mobiles snatched, July 2,127, August 2,045, January 1,939, June 1,899, February 1,846, November 1,843, May 1,438 and March 1,381. April saw the least number of snatchings, with 846 mobile phones stolen.
