An 84-year-old Sattler man was killed Monday when he was run over by the tractor he was operating, authorities said.Â
Jennifer Smith, Comal County Sheriffâs Office public information officer, said deputies responded to the 700 block of Farm-to-Market Road 2673 around 1:44 p.m.
âWe received a 911 call on 5/10/21 at approximately 1:44 p.m. for an elderly male subject who was run over by his tractor,â she said. âDeputies and Canyon Lake Fire and EMS personnel found Albert Kenneth Kanz Jr., 84, deceased at the scene.Â
Smith said Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Tom Clark pronounced Kanz dead, adding an autopsy was not ordered and next of kin were notified.

The daughter of a Comal Independent School District trustee and two other girls last seen leaving a middle school campus mid-afternoon on Tuesday have been found, authorities said.
Jennifer Smith, Comal County Sheriffâs Office public information officer, said San Antonio police located the three girls, Laila Garner, Adamari Perez and Audrey Willhight, who were previously last seen leaving Smithson Valley Middle School in a light blue Chevy sedan around 3 p.m. Tuesday.
âAfter an extensive law enforcement search, all three juvenile girls were located in downtown San Antonio and are being released to their parents,â Smith said. âWe would like to thank the San Antonio Police Department for their assistance in the search.â

At least four public ramps have been closed â not because drought has led to drops in water levels throughout the entire lake but only in sections, and all four are in the Canyon Lake Hills area.
âCurrently (county) ramps Nos. 5, 7, 22, and 23 are closed due to the lake levels,â Comal County Sheriffâs Office Lt. Mike Smith said. âDriving around barricades is covered under Section 472.022 of the Texas Transportation Code and carries a fine up to $200 when not related to barricades placed due to water over the roads such as in flash flood occurrences.â
