ADILABAD: In a bid to contain the spread of coronavirus in the wake of a spurt in positive cases in old Adilabad district, people from many villages are in a self-imposed lockdown for some hours in the daytime.

Telangana is heading for scorching summer but on water front there is some good news for the state.
According to
Ground Water Department of the state, there was a net rise in groundwater level of 2.16 m during March 2021 as compared to the same month last year. The rise is observed in 27 districts and fall in remaining six districts. Average groundwater level in the state during March 2021 is 8.35 meters below ground level (m bgl) and it varies from 3.50 m bgl (Wanaparthy) to 14.87 m bgl (

Hyderabad, April 8 : With the rising day temperatures, Telangana is heading for scorching summer but on water front there is some good news for the state.
According to Ground Water Department of the state, there was a net rise in groundwater level of 2.16 m during March 2021 as compared to the same month last year. The rise is observed in 27 districts and fall in remaining six districts.
Average groundwater level in the state during March 2021 is 8.35 meters below ground level (m bgl) and it varies from 3.50 m bgl (Wanaparthy) to 14.87 m bgl (Medak). Out of 33 districts, only in one district, average water level is 10 m bgl.

Hyderabad: The forests in Telangana state are under siege, from thousands of fires chewing through hundreds of acres regularly, to illegal occupation, demands from cattle herders and sheep rearers to be allowed to graze their animals, and from people demanding pattas to a few lakh acres they have occupied on which they practice ‘podu’, or shifting, cultivation.

Hyderabad: The police have been successful in curbing Maoist activities over the last few years, even as there existed a shortage of personnel, according to partial data compiled by the South Asia Terrorism Portal (SATP).
The portal said 14 Naxalites had been arrested in the state till March 13 this year. Fatalities were recorded in three districts last year: Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mulugu, and Komaram Bheem Asifabad.
