HELENA â Millions of frontline workers are receiving their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine this month. Vice President Pence received his first dose of the Pfizer vaccine Friday morning on live television, President Trump has supported vaccination efforts, and former presidents Obama, Bush, and Clinton have said they d be willing to get vaccinated on camera.
Even with that support, the recommendation of the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), and some of the most peer-reviewed data ever regarding the safety and effectiveness of a vaccine, the frontline workers taking the vaccine are stepping into a bit of the unknown. A act in the service of their patients and community.

HELENA â The Montana VA Health Care System (MTVAHCS) could receive their first doses of a COVID-19 vaccine just in time for Christmas.
Due to the rural nature of the state and the cold requirements of the Pfizer vaccine, MTVAHCS will be receiving doses of the Moderna vaccine once it is approved by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA). A FDA briefing document on the Moderna vaccine shows it as 94 percent at preventing infection. The FDA will determine later this week if the vaccine can be implemented under emergency use.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) Governor Eric Holcomb and the Indiana Department of Transportation award funding to over 200 cities in the state through the Community Crossing program.
Terre Haute was awarded almost a million dollars and Mayor Duke Bennett says these funds will go towards making roads safer for drivers.
The Indiana Department of Transportation provides a 50/50 cost split for the city to complete this project. We re going to be able to get two million dollars worth of work done for a million local dollars, said Bennett. When the state kicks in 50 percent of it, you just can t beat that.
