MPCC Rodeo Team Off To a Great Start in South Dakota

Team roping – Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Team members  Zane Patrick, of Bartlett, and Danielle Wray, of Ord, rope during the MPCC Stampede in North Platte last fall. The duo placed second in the team roping at Spearfish, S.D. over the weekend, and Wray also scored the women’s all-around championship. The Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Team started out strong in its first competitions of the season – taking home two championships. The team was up in both rodeos that made up the Black Hills State University Will Lantis Yellow Jacket Stampede in Spearfish, S.D. Thursday through Saturday. Rodeo #1 Danielle Wray, of Ord, scored the women’s all-around championship for MPCC in the first rodeo. Wray placed second in the team roping with partner Zane Patrick, of Bartlett. She also split fourth, fifth and sixth alongside teammate Sheyenne Hammond, of Valentine.

Weld County Investigating Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting The Weld County Sheriff s Office is investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting that occurred Saturday (April 17) in a subdivision near Fort Lupton. According to a press release from the sheriff s office, multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a home in the Aristocrat Ranchettes neighborhood at approximately 8:43 a.m. on Saturday, after a female caller reported a disturbance involving weapons. The caller informed 911 dispatchers that there was a man armed with a gun, who was preventing her from leaving the house and also threatening to kill her. When officers arrived to the subdivision, located in unincorporated Weld County, they came in contact with the man outside of the house. The suspect was ordered to drop his weapon but did not comply. After several minutes of interacting with the male suspect, an officer-involved shooting occurred.

Suspect dies after officer-involved shooting MGN WELD COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) - A confrontation with law enforcement ended with a suspect being shot and killed by police Saturday morning, in a subdivision northeast of Fort Lupton. The Weld County Sheriff s Office said Law enforcement agencies responded to a 911 call to a subdivision called Aristocrat Ranchettes, just northeast of Fort Lupton, about 8:30 Saturday morning. According to WCSO, a woman called to 911 and told dispatchers that a man armed with a gun was threatening to kill her and preventing her from leaving the house. A WCSO spokesperson said when officers arrived on-scene, they found the suspect outside the house and ordered him to drop his weapon. After several more minutes of interaction with the suspect, an officer-involved shooting occurred, that fatally wounded a 60-year-old man from Weld County. At this time, the Sheriff s Office has not released his identity.

One person dead in Weld County police shooting KMGH and last updated 2021-04-17 15:02:31-04 WELD COUNTY, Colo. — Authorities said one person is dead following a shooting involving multiple agencies in Weld County. No officers were injured. The incident occurred in the Aristocrat Ranchettes community outside Fort Lupton in unincorporated Weld County Saturday morning. The Weld County Sheriff’s Office said officers responded to a disturbance with weapons call in the rural subdivision when the shooting occurred. A female caller reported to 911 there was a man armed with a gun who was preventing her from leaving the house and was threatening to kill her.

Man killed in northern Colorado shooting with law enforcement after threatening woman

A 60-year-old man is dead following an officer-involved shooting in Fort Lupton on Saturday morning.  Law enforcement officials from multiple agencies were dispatched to a home in the Aristocrat Ranchettes in unincorporated Weld County at 8:43 a.m. after a report of a man with a gun, according to a news release from the 19th Judicial Critical Incident Response Team. A female told dispatch that there was an armed man outside her home who was preventing her from leaving and threatening to kill her. Officials from multiple agencies including responded and located the man outside of the residence. Law enforcement ordered him to drop his weapon immediately, and after several minutes of communicating, a member of the Weld County Sheriff s Office fired at the suspect, the agencies spokesperson told The Denver Gazette.
