A 62-year-old Fort McMurray man is being charged after allegedly threatening a local politician.
On February 16, Wood Buffalo RCMP were contacted by the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms, from the House of Commons in Ottawa, claiming David Yurdiga, MP for Fort McMurray-Cold Lake, had received multiple threats from Brad Love.
Fort McMurray RCMP General Investigation Section took over the investigation and arrested Love later that day.
He’s since been charged with indecent telephone call with intent to alarm and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
Love has been released and is scheduled to appear in a Fort McMurray courtroom on March 17, 2021.
EDMONTON A Fort McMurray man has been charged after he allegedly threatened a Member of Parliament. Wood Buffalo RCMP received a complaint on Feb. 16 from the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms in the House of Commons, alleging threats were made against MP David Yurdiga. Yurdiga is a Conservative MP and was elected to represent the riding of Fort McMurray-Cold Lake in the 42nd Canadian general election.
