Venue: Miller Park (now American Family Field)
There was an active storm season in 2017, when a three-game weekend series between the Marlins and Brewers was forced to relocate to Milwaukee because of Hurricane Irma. (The roof of Marlins Park incurred minor damage that was fixed over the offseason.)
Attendance was capped due to staffing issues, with only the lower seating bowl open for the series opener (a capacity of about 10,000). Capacity increased to approximately 23,000 for the next two games. Marlins Park stood ready to host the games, but we all agreed that burdening public service resources was not the proper course of action, then-Marlins president David Samson said in a statement. Following Hurricane Irma, the Miami Marlins realize that all of our employees, as well as our entire community, have other needs that must take a priority at this time.
From East Texas Baptist University
When it comes to bass fishermen, we grow some good ones around these parts. Proving that this year is Marshall, Texas own East Texas Baptist University, who just laid claim to the coveted title of The Tackle Warehouse School of the Year.
We learn from Major League Fishing that the title is presented each year to the college with the highest point total at the conclusion of the regular season. Points are awarded to the top two finishing teams from each school competing in a College Fishing tournament. The ETBU club secured the crown with top finishes in the Southern Conference and a pair of top-10 finishes in the annual Open on Kentucky Lake.

The 2020 baseball season offered us plenty of excitement in a short span, from the July 23 Opening Day matchups all the way through Game 6 of the World Series. Even with fewer games than normal, there were feats and amazing stats accruing left and right, every single day.
It’s hard to pick just one per team, after a season that gave us so much fodder. No team or player can be summed up in one stat alone, but information can entertain and give us insight into the season that was, even if it doesn’t encapsulate the entire year in one fact.

The bass-fishing team at East Texas Baptist University (ETBU) is the best in the country, capping off the 2020 Abu Garcia College Fishing presented by YETI season in first place overall with 2,319 points, and earning the team the title of Tackle Warehouse School of the Year.
