Michigan insider EJ Holland put out an article on Friday about the friendship between 2022 Michigan commit Kody Jones and Walter Nolan and the friendship between their dads. Kody and Walter have known each other since pee-wee league football. And they ve wanted to play together. They did play together one year. And their team did very well that year. Kody Jones dad, Keith, is putting the full court press on Walter Nolen s dad, Walter Sr.
“Every time he calls me or we talk, he says ‘you know, Walter would sure look good in that blue,’” Walter Sr. said with a laugh. “He tells me we already know what the move is and to come on over. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but every time we talk, if the conversation doesn’t start with blue, it’s going to end with blue.”

Maurice Linguist says his decision to leave Michigan football to become the head coach at Buffalo was difficult but the opportunity was not one that he could pass up.
“Obviously, any time you make a transition, the recruits and the student-athletes and the coaches and the community that you’re part of, it’s always difficult,” Linguist told reporters Monday morning. “But this was just too good for me not to investigate and be a part of. As hard as it was to leave that situation, we could not be more excited to be here and get ready to work.”

A crack recruiter, Linguist’s hire was the first widely regarded sign of hope that Harbaugh could turn the program around following last year’s 2-4 season. Linguist helped them secure commitments from legacy five-star Will Johnson and TN 4 Kody Jones for the 2022 class, and as of last week the Wolverines appeared to have a strong chance with several more elite athletes in the secondary. Most likely the fallout from today has changed that position significantly, especially with Jones, who committed just days after Linguist s hire. Michigan will also have to start over with top target TN 4 Myles Pollard, and explain to everyone why they go through so much staff turnover.

Nate Johnson got a crystal ball from 24/7’s Sam Webb and a FutureCast from Rivals’s EJ Holland recently. Johnson ran a 10.49 100-meter-dash at a meet last weekend per his coach. For reference, Tyrone Wheatley put up a 10.46 at Michigan, Denard’s personal best was 10.44, and the mathematics of the Universal Standard Model of Quarterback Physics breaks down at around 10.42.
