Sonova acquires Sennheiser Consumer Business
Both companies will work together under the Sennheiser brand in the future May 07, 2021
Sennheiser and the Sonova Holding AG with headquarters in Stäfa, Switzerland, today announced their future cooperation under the Sennheiser brand. The global provider of medical hearing solutions will fully take over Sennheiser s Consumer Electronics business. Subject to regulatory approval, the plan is to complete the transfer of the business to Sonova by the end of 2021. Sennheiser had announced in February that it would focus on the Professional business in the future while seeking a partner for the Consumer Electronics business.
Consumer Electronics products from Sennheiser stand for the best sound and a unique audio experience. With the takeover of the Sennheiser Consumer business, Sonova is adding headphones and soundbars to its hearing care portfolio, which includes hearing aids and cochlear implants, among other hearing solutions. TEMPORAL project helps improving hearing of deaf
Electrical inner ear prostheses like Cochlear Implants (CIs) help deaf and severely hearing-impaired persons to regain many of their communication abilities. The performance of CI in social environments is, however, not optimal. The new “Machine learning To Enhance teMPoral cOding foR cochleAr impLants” (TEMPORAL) project, in which Thomas Bäck and Anna Kononova from the Leiden Institute for Advanced Computer Science (LIACS) are involved, will examine how to improve their performance.

(Seguin) – Texas Lutheran’s Haley Padilla, a senior first baseman on the TLU Softball team, has been selected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Character & Community Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the week beginning April 5.
The SCAC Character & Community award honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in the field of athletics and also serve their campus and community.
Padilla, a native of Spring Branch, Texas and a graduate of Smithson Valley High School, will graduate from TLU this May with a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology. She plans to get a second bachelor’s degree, in communication science, from a different university and then pursue her professional doctorate in the discipline of audiology (AuD).
