We have some unfortunate news today to report out of Florida, where a Biglaw partner was found dead in the water near his beachfront home this past weekend.
Douglas A. Wright, 60, the operations and finance partner of Holland & Knight’s office in Tampa, Florida, was found floating in the water just off Clearwater Beach on Sunday. While the medical examiner’s office has not yet determined the cause of his death, the firm said it is believed he died of a suspected cardiac event while swimming. The Tampa Bay Times has some additional details:

Children as young as 12 years old might begin receiving COVID vaccines as soon as next week.
The FDA is expected to rule early in the week on whether to expand the emergency use authorization for the Pfizer vaccine. A federal vaccine advisory committee is then scheduled to meet Wednesday. That committee could recommend to the CDC that kids aged 12 to 15 be allowed to get the vaccine. Currently, Pfizer s vaccine is approved for anyone over 16.

Clearwater police looking for person who dumped loving dog on roadside
Evan Axelbank reports
CLEARWATER, Fla. - Clearwater police are looking for the person who left their dog on the side of the road. This dog appeared to our officer to be the most loving, friendly creature that there could be, said Clearwater Police spokesman Rob Shaw.
The dog was also apparently lonely and unhealthy after he was found on the 2500 block of Burnice Drive near Gulf to Bay Boulevard and US-19.
A witness called Clearwater police, who brought it to animal control, which is where he is now.

Paven Dhaliwal heard there might be a COVID-19 pop-up vaccination clinic opening near her Surrey home at Newton Athletic Park on Wednesday morning, when her sister alerted her with one word: “Run.”
“I didn’t even have time to put on socks or wash my face,” said Dhaliwal, who took off and sprinted to the site.
The 24-year-old retail worker arrived to find more than 250 people already in line, some of whom had camped out overnight in the hopes the rumours about the clinic were true.
It was 7:30 am.
She stood in the cold rain, shivering, until a nurse handed her a ticket and told her that everyone aged 18+ was eligible and to stay put for a chance at a vaccine.
