Nets collapse in double OT as Brooklyn falls to Cleveland, 147-135, in ‘Big Three’ debut

It was a heartbreaker in Cleveland. Brooklyn’s growing pains were evident (and have to be expected) as the Nets fell to the Cavaliers, 147-135, in double overtime. With the loss, Brooklyn drops to 9-7 on the season while Cleveland improves to 7-7.
Despite the Nets big debut, the game was the Colin Sexton Show. The last pick from the Celtics trade (who was traded to the Cavs for Irving) finished with 42 points including the first seven points of the second overtime, dagger after dagger.

The Pacers finish up 2020 at the Fieldhouse on Thursday afternoon when they face the Cleveland Cavaliers at 3 p.m. ET.
The early tip time on New Year’s Eve always makes for an odd dynamic, moreso this season with no fans in the building, let alone muted plans for revelry to greet 2021. The matchup with the Cavs always seems to be a stress for the Pacers, especially since Andre Drummond joined Cleveland last year.
The Cavs took two preseason games from the Pacers, although both teams were deep into their benches when those games were decided late. The Pacers were also without Myles Turner and T.J. Warren.
