In addition to $1,400 stimulus checks and an extension in unemployment benefits, the American Rescue Plan provides $6 billion in direct aid to the state and to local Colorado cities, towns and counties. According to Senator Hickenlooper’s office, Carbondale will receive $1.37 million, Basalt will get $820,000, Aspen will receive $1.5 million, Marble will receive $30,000, and Glenwood Springs will get $2 million. Additionally, Pitkin County will receive $3.2 million as Garfield County gets $10.8 million.

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis and Dan Gibbs, executive director, Colorado Department of Natural Resources announced the establishment of a Water Equity Task Force to better understand existing equity, diversity and inclusivity (EDI) challenges in Colorado water issues and inform the Colorado Water Plan.
“In Colorado, water is the lifeblood of our state and critical for our economy, agriculture, wildlife and environment. This Task Force is another important piece in creating a Colorado for all and will inform our Colorado Water Plan by ensuring that future efforts in planning for Colorado’s water future are increasingly inclusive,” said Gov. Colorado SIPA is excited to announce the 2021 micro-grant recipients. Out of a pool of 92 applications, 33 governments received funding, totaling more than $161,000.
The Colorado Statewide Internet Portal Authority (SIPA) has a long history of providing micro-grants for Colorado governments. Since 2010, more than 280 grants and $1.5 million have been awarded to government entities across the state. These micro-grants focus on assisting governments to increase adoption, usage, and safety of online services by placing more information and services online for residents.
“These public-facing projects have the potential to bring incredibly positive benefits to communities from all around our great state. SIPA and its Board of Directors are honored to help Colorado governments use technology to connect with their residents,” said Ajay Bagal, SIPA’s Executive Director.
