Columbus police officers receive training from the State Attorney General s Office
The Columbus Police Department held a training teaching officers how to write a report effectively.

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) - A representative from the State Attorney General s Office visited Columbus today to teach officers how to write a report correctly and effectively.
This is one of the monthly training sessions the police department holds.
The training s range from learning how to de-escalate situations, use of force, to Thursday s exercise on writing reports.
“It’s the basis of a case, said Columbus Police Chief Fred Shelton. We want to make sure that our officers get up-to-date training on how to write a report and how to write it effectively.”
