The V12 features Jenvey 40 mm individual throttle bodies, 3-stage dry sump, stainless steel side exhaust, and Megasquirt MS3Pro ECU. The Corvette rides on a Vansteel coilovers with an electric power steering rack and Wilwood 14-inch brakes with six-piston calipers in front. Richard celebrated his hard work with the first test drive.

According to Australia s Wheels magazine, the Z06 will be the first Corvette since the C4 ZR1 to feature an engine without pushrods. It is said to be closely related to Cadillac s Blackwing 4.2-liter V8. It s not the first time that the Blackwing name could have merged with a Vette, but this time it seems like it ll actually happen. However, the report says that the engine won t have turbos as in the Blackwing, but will be built on the same assembly line and will have different cylinder heads and a flat-plane crank. As such, it is rumored to be capable of revving to 9,000 rpm. Oh, and it will be the most powerful normally aspirated V8 with a whopping 616 horsepower.
