Genesis GV80 Coupe Reportedly Planned To Fight BMW X6 ++ Hyundai s luxury division apparently doesn t want the Germans to grab all the sales in the coupe-SUV niche.
Genesis was late to the SUV party, deciding to prioritize sedans by launching the G90, G80, and G70. It seems Hyundai’s luxury division is looking to make up for the lost time by expanding its high-riding offerings beyond the GV80, GV70, and the upcoming electric crossover. According to South Korean portal
The Korean Car Blog), a GV80 Coupe is allegedly in the works and the first prototypes will commence road testing as early as July.
Kia will share a platform with Hyundai and Genesis

Kia has confirmed it will launch seven new dedicated electric vehicles (EVs) by 2027, as part of a new long-term brand strategy angled towards sustainability.
These models will be underpinned by the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), shared with sister brands Hyundai and Genesis.
Furthermore, the company announced it will also build a range of Purpose-Built Vehicles (PBVs) for corporate customers.
Specific details are being kept firmly under wraps, however the manufacturer teased a dark, backlit image alongside the announcement.
This shows a range of SUVs, sedans, people movers, and small buses alongside a Renault Twizy-sized autonomous pod.
Kia may be changing its company slogan and logo to reflect its new premiumness. Gone is “the power to surprise,” the slogan equivalent of a back-handed compliment, and in comes “Movement that Inspires.”
Or at least, that’s what the automaker has trademarked with the Korean intellectual property office. Spotted by the Korean Car Blog, the trademarks include the slogan as well as a new logo.
The new logo eschews the old oval, in favor of a minimalist, flowing script. The logo was previewed by Kia’s Inspire concept in 2019 and has since been spotted in spy pictures as well. Kia’s head office, meanwhile, took the old logo down, presumably to make way for a new one.
