Normandie Express, which is being renamed Condor Voyager to operate from Poole for Condor Ferries this summer CONDOR Ferries is expecting to create around 100 jobs thanks to an expected summer boom in bookings. The company, which runs between Poole, the Channel Islands and France, recently announced it was adding a Brittany Ferries ship to its routes. The Condor Voyager, previously called the Normandie Express, will provide more capacity on the routes already served by Condor Liberation. Condor says it expects to take on around 100 staff in seasonal and permanent roles this summer, split between ports and ships. “Once that’s complete, we will be carrying out some sea trials in all our ports and then sailing to use the ship in the summer alongside Condor Liberation and hopefully get people to meet up with friends and family and go on their long-anticipated holiday,” he said.

An essential supplies ship has left Jersey s harbour after it was held up by French fishing boats.
She arrived in St Helier at 4:30am this morning (6 May) and unloaded cargo as usual, leaving the port nearly seven hours later once they felt it was safe to do so.
The ship s operator Condor Ferries has confirmed there will be no impact to the freight supply chain, which brings 95% of essential food, medical and other goods into the Channel Islands.
The vessels were deployed amid concerns of a possible blockade of Jersey by French boats.
As of Thursday morning, up to 60 vessels were reported off Jersey s south coast, near the island s capital St Helier, as part of a demonstration by French fishermen.
Some let off flares but the protest has so far remained peaceful, according to the Jersey Evening Post.
There had been worries about more direct action by the demonstrators.
Paul Luxon, the chief executive of Condor Ferries, posted on Twitter that the Commodore Goodwill freight ferry had been trapped in St Helier harbour.
However, it was later reported the vessel would be allowed to leave.
