Rocky Lee Shew

Rocky was a lifelong resident of Johnson City. He was born September 4, 1960. Rocky graduated from Science Hill High School, and worked as an electrician for many years. He enjoyed playing golf, college football, camping, ATV riding, and was a master of the grill. Rocky was witty, charming, dependable, and the world was a better place because he was in it. He was the first to drop everything and help anyone at a moment’s notice. Rocky Lee Shew touched so many lives, and was a dear friend to all. He was preceded in death by father and stepmother, Donald and Brenda Shew, and beloved dog Lily.

Mr Kenneth Edward Webb

He was the son of Jeanetta Branch Webb and the late Willie Webb. Kenny was an outstanding student and he graduated early from Elizabethton High School in 1975. He graduated from East Tennessee State University in 1978, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Kenny was a successful Pharmaceutical Sales representative who worked for several companies, retiring from Roche. Throughout his thirty year career, he was awarded many awards for his dedicated service. He was a very well respected member of the medical community. Kenny loved Watauga Lake, NASCAR racing, and UT football. Kenny was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Elizabethton, where he taught Sunday school, most recently Kenny supported East Unaka Christian Church.

Jere F Goretzke, Sr

Jere F. Goretzke, Sr., 76, of New Danville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Lancaster General Hospital, following a brief illness. He was the husband of Judith A. Judy Downes Goretzke, with whom he celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on December 31, 2020. He was born in Lancaster, son of the late Jay R., Sr. and Florence Miller Goretzke. Jere was a truck driver for United Parcel Service for more than 30 years before his retirement in 2004. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving with the Old Guard during the Vietnam Conflict, and was a member of the Fife and Drum Corps at Arlington National Cemetery. Jere was a member of New Danville Fire Company; played shortstop for and also coached the New Danville Modified Softball Team; coached Little League and was an avid hunter.
