Flagler Beach, FL – The City of Flagler Beach is offering residents the chance to take advantage of City Services this weekend with Super Spring Saturday. The event takes place from 10 a.m until 2 p.m. at the Flagler Beach Police Department (FBPD). Saturday is also National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day and residents can bring their unused or expired prescription medications for safe disposal. This gives people a place to get rid of unwanted medications anonymously and at no cost. Needles and fluids will not be accepted. Something else you can take care of is golf cart inspections and registration payments. The inspections will take place in the FBPD parking lot. A member of the City Finance Department will be on hand to collect payment for golf cart registrations. They are $40 and payments can be made with cash or check; no credit cards. The owner of a Flagler Beach restaurant texted a string of racist death threats to a black former employee, according to the Flagler Beach Police Department.
The suspect, 41-year-old Palm Coast resident Daniel Danny Catalan, is at the Flagler County jail on no bond on a charge of sending a written threat to kill. Catalan, the registered owner of the Dessert Bar at 105 N. Oceanhsore Blvd. in Flagler Beach, has been arrested multiple times in the past and was out on bond for charges of felony aggravated assault, domestic battery and resisting an officer at the time of his latest arrest on Feb. 24.
