The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has officially announced this year’s inductees: Foo Fighters, The Go-Go’s, Jay-Z, Carole King, Todd Rundgren, and Tina Turner will join the class of 2021 in the Performers category.
Additionally, LL Cool J, Billy Preston, and Randy Rhoads will receive the Musical Excellence Award. Kraftwerk, Gil Scott Heron and Charley Patton will get the Early Influence Award, and Sussex Records founder Clarence Avant will be given the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
The induction ceremony will be held at Cleveland, Ohio’s Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on October 30th. It will be broadcast on HBO Max and Streamed on HBO Max at a later date.

Pearl Jam sEddie Vedder performed an updated rendition of Corduroy , and a cover of Little Steven s I Am A Patriot at Global Citizen s Vax Live in the weekend.
Vedder was joined onstage with a backing band that included ex-Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer.
The concert was organised by the charity Global Citizen to celebrate the worldwide availability of COVID-19 vaccines, with the audience largely made up of vaccinated healthcare and essential workers.

“This is a feeling we haven’t had in quite some time, and it feels pretty good,” Vedder told the Covid-compliant audience at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium for the Vax Live concert, which both encouraged Covid-19 vaccinations around the world as well as called for philanthropists to donate enough “dollars-for-doses” to vaccinate more than 27 million international healthcare workers.

The Vax Live charity extravaganza staged at the SoFi stadium in Los Angeles had one thing going for it that no large-scale concert has enjoyed for over a year: an actual audience. There was, admittedly, plenty of elbow room, with 27,000 masked and fully vaccinated key workers assembled in a space for 100,000.
But the performers certainly seemed pleased not to be playing into the usual sterile void of a live stream. Film-and-music star Jennifer Lopez opened proceedings with a rousing singalong of Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline, presumably just so she could hear all those people bellowing “touching me, touching you!” at the top of their voices.
