If there’s one trait that seems to run through the life stories of the men who have occupied the nation’s highest elected office, it’s motion. Whether they experienced childhoods spent in constant relocation, pursued career paths that took them from one military command post to another, sought out business opportunities that kept them hustling, or dedicated themselves to chasing political office, presidents have been men on the go. Some of that movement has been as much symbolic as geographic ascending from a log cabin or house without indoor plumbing to that historic address on Pennsylvania Avenue.

Yes, that 11-day celebration of crafts, displays, agriculture exhibits, thrill rides, and really weird food begins today at the state fairgrounds in Tampa.
Normally by now, the Fair would be long gone, but as we all know, there is nothing normal about this time. Originally scheduled to open on Feb. 11, organizers deferred to COVID-19 and moved the Fair back more than two months.

In his first 100 days, Roosevelt passed 76 laws, focused on reviving the U.S. economy through public works projects that ultimately employed over 8 million people, built 1,000 airports, brought electric lights to America’s countryside, gave birth to the social security program, and spearheaded conservation projects nationwide.

More than 20 people made the 600-mile journey from the Keys to the other end of the state Wednesday.
In Tallahassee, they attended a Florida Senate committee hearing considering a bill that would overturn Key West s limits on cruise ships. Voters approved three amendments to the city charter last November that would limit the number of people and size of ships that could come to the island.
Most of them were against the bill and included many who said the water quality in the area had improved in the year since cruise ships stopped sailing.
