Subscriber only EXTRA supplies of beer are on their way up the Stuart Highway to Darwin after a huge influx of visitors have put a strain on stocks. Suppliers and venues were given a run for their money when it came to stockpiles of keg beer as revellers tried their best to drink the bars dry. Drinkers, however, should not fret as stocks have been replenished across the board. Hospitality NT chief executive Alex Bruce told the NT News the dry season was roaring after a handful of jam packed weekends - the most recent being BASSINTHEGRASS.

Tooheys Extra Dry has released a new instalment in the ongoing ‘Proudly Ordinary’ campaign platform.
The video features Australian comedian Gocsy taking a guided tour through the Tooheys factory. The five minute film was produced in collaboration with Vice, and has been released on both respective platforms.
This new work is part of the ‘Proudly Ordinary’ campaign, created by 72 and Sunny, launched last year following the agency winning the creative account without pitch.
The campaign takes a lighthearted approach to the market perception Tooheys Extra Dry holds, as an ordinary, everyday beer.

There s a lot to digest with the new concept, which not only seats 150 covers for food and drinks but is also home to the Gweilo Brewlab, a research and development brewing facility where guests can sample experimental brews not available anywhere else yet. The main bar features 24 taps that feature Gweilo s lineup of lagers, sours and IPAs, alongside serves from former occupants Little Creatures and other local breweries like Heroes and Carbon Brews. A selection of draft cocktails is also available, such as Gweilo gin & tonic, pineapple mojito and the Pampelle Spritz.
The bar snacks are designed to pair with the beers, and range from Wagyu flank beef tartare with fermented red pepper paste, to house-made pork and beer malt sausages, salmon pastrami served with charred cucumber, and the GFC , essentially a Japanese chicken thigh marinated in buttermilk and Gweilo IPA, then deep-fried and served with spicy mayo.

Tonight is the final home game of the season for the New Jersey Devils. The Rock has been a tough building for the Devils this season as they have one of the worst home records this season. If nothing else, I would like to see the Devils prevail over the Boston Bruins (as would the Islanders) and send the fans home happy on the second of Fan Appreciation Nights. Will we see that? It remains to be seen.
