The National Lacrosse League worked hard to try to make a 2021 bubble season happen but, in the end, it just couldn t make everything work.
IL Indoor has confirmed that the bubble was going to be held at the FirstOntario Centre, the Hamilton arena formerly known as Copps Coliseum. Teams would have had two practices then played a four-game “regular season” tournament followed by a single-elimination playoffs among the top eight teams.
Perhaps the biggest news for the league was that an agreement was close to being finalized to have the games broadcast on TSN. The schedule would have suited the network well because it would have given them plenty of daytime content, given that the bubble would have seen three or four games a day being played to get it completed in the 17-day time frame for the event, planned for April.
