Lofton’s Strong Second Half leads Bonnies over Duquesne

On Wednesday, after a technical foul put him on the bench for the last six minutes of the first half, Kyle Lofton came in and provided a much-needed spark to help the Bonnies win by double digits at Fordham.
Friday, it was more of the same.
Lofton finished Friday with 28 points, 23 of which were in the second half of a 62-48 win over Duquesne.
“(I was) just staying confident in myself, lately I haven’t been playing the best basketball, but I just tell myself everyday ‘I put in the work, I put in the effort, just stay confident and keep attacking.’ The team leans on me and I’m going to just do my best to perform,” Lofton said.
Jaren Holmes Leads Bonnies to Win in NYC

Jaren Holmes must love playing afternoon games on Wednesday’s.
After finishing with a career-best 38 last week, Holmes finished with 26 in Wednesday’s win at Fordham (1-4, 1-4), 68-54.
The Bonnies had six days off in-between games thanks to a George Washignton COVID-19 pause, but it didn’t seem like it affected them. In the opening 20 minutes, the Bonnies shot 46.7% from the field and knocked down three shots from beyond the arch. Holmes didn’t miss a beat either, as his 17 points at halftime led all scorers.
Jaren Holmes registered 17 points as Saint Bonaventure narrowly defeated Richmond 69-66 on Saturday. Kyle Lofton added 16 points for the Bonnies, and Dominick Welch chipped in 11 points and nine rebounds. Osun Osunniyi had 13 rebounds for Saint Bonaventure (3-1, 1-1 Atlantic 10 Conference).

RICHMOND, Va. On Feb. 20, 2018, shortly after then-freshman Kyle Lofton sunk a game-winning jump shot over La Salle, Bonnies head coach Mark Schmidt didn’t hesitate to tab Lofton as the quarterback of his offense. He said he trusted Lofton and that he wants the ball in his hands.
And clearly, none of that faith has wavered.
