Eagles News: ESPN suggests three perfect free agent fits for Philadelphia

Let’s get to the links . Matt Milano, LB Best scheme fit: Eagles | 2020 team: Bills | Age: 27 Milano would be an upgrade at linebacker in Philadelphia, and the traits are there to play a three-down role for the Eagles. He can be schemed as a rusher off pressures (3.5 sacks last season), and he will play off-contact to find the ball in the run game, too. Plus, with the ability to drop in coverage, and move in space, Milano can match in zone coverage or close windows as an underneath hook defender in sub packages. [BLG Note: ESPN also has Andy Dalton and Malik Hooker as perfect fits in Philly. I’d pass on Dalton but Milano and Hooker make sense if the Eagles can manage to afford them.]

NFL Draft 2021: Answering the biggest Eagles questions - Bleeding Green Nation

I highly recommend you listen to the entire podcast but I transcribed some of the conversation for you to read below. PASS ON TAKING A QB? COOPER: Yeah, I mean, we wouldn’t really advocate for taking a quarterback at six. Eagles fans are probably a little bit bitter about that, going after what you guys did last year with [taking] Hurts. But you have to look at it, there’s a lot of good talent at the top for quarterback. If a team really falls in love with somebody, at that point you really have to do what’s best for the team. And now you have a new regime, and you have Nick Sirianni, new coaching staff. They’re not tied to Hurts at all. So it’s going to be interesting to see what they want to do. Hurts is a guy that we viewed as a circumstantial starter, more of a backup type of guy, in last year’s guide. And we obviously want to stick by that. And if you go by that, you think they’d probably need a quarterback to go in front of him. But, again, we’re not really

Eagles News: Philadelphia has had contract extension talks with Derek Barnett s agent

Eagles News: Philadelphia has had contract extension talks with Derek Barnett’s agent Philadelphia Eagles news and links for 3/6/21. Let’s get to the links . If the Eagles were in better cap shape, they might consider letting Barnett play this year for $10 million, then make a decision on his future next year when his contract is up, much like they did two years ago with their 2015 first-round pick, wide receiver Nelson Agholor. But they aren’t in good cap shape, and really can’t afford to be having Barnett taking up such a large percentage (approximately 6%) of their cap room. He had just 5 ½ sacks last year and was rated 36th out of 121 edge rushers in pass-rush productivity by Pro Football Focus. According to two league sources familiar with the situation, the Eagles have had discussions with Barnett’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, about an extension, which would seem to indicate that their preference is to keep him.

49ers Bold Predictions: Where we went wrong in 2020 and two we got right

Photo by Tom Pennington/Getty Images No matter what walk of life you’re in; everybody likes to be right. In a business like this, where the receipts are posted for all the world to see, we especially like to be right. Unfortunately, in sports and life, that is often not the case. However, rather than run from our failures, we’re embracing them. Here, and in today’s Niners Nation Shanaplan Podcast with Kyle Posey and Akash Anavarathan, we’re looking back at where we went wrong with our 2020 Bold Predictions. The Cowboys Rivalry Returns in 2020 Oof. Where to begin on this one. Instead of a possible battle for the number one seed between two of the NFL’s most iconic franchises, we saw a skirmish between Nick Mullens and Andy Dalton. To add insult to injury, the NFL flexed the game out of Sunday Night Football and banished it to the anonymity of the 10 AM early games. In their place, the 9-4 Browns met the 5-8 Giants (though New York was in first place in the NFC East at
