Environment Canada has ended the wind warnings issued for the Alberta foothills. The forecast had called for strong winds across the foothills, stretching from the Canmore area south to the U.S. border. Most areas could see 90 km/h gusts, with stronger winds further south towards the Crowsnest Pass. The warning was ended at 3:50 p.m. There were also reports of lightning near Red Deer this morning as a rare winter thunderstorm swept by the city at about 4:30 a.m.
