Subscriber only The government has been accused of throwing loose change at the environment and climate, with millions of dollars for fossil fuel industries, but little for renewables and electric vehicles. Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF) spokesperson Matt Rose said the government continues to shovel public money at fossil fuel projects through Budget allocations such as the $275 million set aside for five hydrogen energy hubs. Subsidies for the gas industry fly in the face of climate science and further demonstrate to the world that despite shifting global trends, Australia remains a climate laggard, Mr Rose said.

Tom Wolf s administration announced that event and gathering maximum occupancy limits will be increased next week.Beginning Monday, the maximum occupancy limits in Pennsylvania will be increased to 50 percent for indoor events and gatherings and 75 percent for outdoor events and gatherings.“As more Pennsylvania adults get vaccinated and guidance from the CDC evolves, we can continue to move forward with the commonwealth’s reopening efforts,” said Wolf. “We recognize the significant strain businesses have faced during COVID-19 mitigation efforts. Throughout the last year and half, we have seen businesses continue to put the safety of their patrons first and I believe they will continue to do so even with this capacity increase.”The update will not prevent Pennsylvania municipalities, school districts, restaurants and venues from continuing and implementing stricter mitigation efforts. Whether online or in-person, teachers have met their students with a smile each day during the pandemic. This year for Teacher Appreciation Week, most went the extra mile to celebrate educators. “Amazing, amazing work. We can’t thank them enough,” said Pittsburgh Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Anthony Hamlet. Hamlet tweeted out his thanks to teachers this week.
