: Mayim Bialik (”The Big Bang Theory”) stars in a new sitcom about a woman who owns a cat cafe, and juggles her friendships, and an overbearing mother who’s pressuring her single daughter to settle down with a fella. The cast also includes Cheyenne Jackson, Swoosie Kurtz, Kyla Pratt, Leslie Jordan and Julian Gant. (8 p.m. Sunday Fox; moves to its regular time slot of 9 p.m. on Thursday; stream on FuboTV and Hulu)

Back in the foggy mists of early 2020, looking ahead to upcoming winter TV shows was a pleasant exercise in predicting which series might be good. Within a few short months, as we all now know, everything changed. Just as normal routines and rituals were transformed, so was TV, which makes the 2021 winter TV premiere schedule look a bit different than usual.
During the past year, series that we expected to return were put on pause, as the coronavirus pandemic forced productions to shut down. Shows that kept on going eventually adapted as best they could, turning to “bubbles,” frequent testing and other expensive, time-consuming measures intended to create a safe working environment.

The Big Bang Theory’s Mayim Bialik and Jim Parsons team up once again. This time on Call Me Kat, a new sitcom for FOX, but only Bialik will appear onscreen as Parsons’ sole role is as an executive producer.
That said, it was he who brought the project to Bialik to star in and executive produce alongside him and showrunner Darlene Hunt.
Call Me Kat is based on the British TV series Miranda and is the story of a woman who struggles every day against society and her mother to prove that she can live a happy and fulfilling life despite still being single at 39.
