Large Bio-power Plant Built in Fukuoka
One of Japan’s largest biomass power plants is now in operation in Kanda Town, Fukuoka Prefecture. Funded by Renova Inc., Sumitomo Forestry Co., Ltd., and three more companies, the 75-megawatt plant would supply electricity to clients of Kyushu Electric Power (Kyuden.) The yearly production of 500,000 megawatts is equivalent to the demands of 170,000 households.
