Tele2 Sweden s proposal to buy Com Hem for SKr27 billion (€2.667 billion) was announced in January. It was no surprise: the Kinnevik investment group is the biggest shareholder in both companies and has long sought to pave the way to converged operations.
In January, a statement said the converged operator expected to generate SKr900 million in synergies over five years.
Deal concluded
The Swedish Companies Registration Office concluded the merger process and all of Com Hem Holding’s assets and liabilities have been transferred to Tele2. The merged entity will maintain the company name Tele2 AB.
A1 Telekom Austria Group already provides 3.8 million Austrians with 5G, having activated more than 1,000 sites this year, in urban and rural areas.
It also runa Austria s largest fibre network of more than 61,000km, and describes the combination of the two as 5Giganet.
Nationwide
A1 Group’s CEO, Thomas Arnoldner, said, Only with nationwide, high-quality access to digital media, services and business models can the full potential of digitalization in Austria be unleashed.

Nokia to build private 5G network for KymiRing Finland Details

Nokia is to implement an industrial-grade private 5G network at the KymiRing motor racing circuit in Finland.
It will be completed in 2021 by EDZCOM, a European provider of edge connectivity solutions with particular expertise in broadcasting. It is part of Cellnex, which is probably better known for its towerco business.

Nokia wins 5G radio and core contract with A1 Austria Details

A1 Austria has signed a multi-year contract with Nokia for 5G coverage across the country which continues the long-standing partnership between the two.
Nokia will supply 5G radio access and core network services, and the deployment of products and services is underway, with the core element scheduled for roll out in the first half of 2021.
4G/5G slicing
Nokia will supply A1 with its AirScale portfolio including 5G RAN, AirScale base stations, and Nokia AirScale radio access products.
A1 will also launch 4G and 5G network slicing commercially after a successful pilot. The solution will support connectivity from 4G and 5G devices over the sliced network to applications running in private and public clouds.
