Educating youth about SDGs stressed Islamabad February 4, 2021 Rawalpindi: Deputy Speaker, National Assembly Muhammad Qasim Khan Suri inaugurated Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Wall at Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) to create awareness about SDGs among students and faculty. Chairman, Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Abrar ul Haq, Secretary, Young Parliamentarians Forum, MNA Uzma Jadoon, Executive Director, SSDO Syed Kausar Abbas and Vice Chancellor FJWU Dr. Saima Hamid also graced the ceremony with their presence. Department of Sociology in collaboration with Sustainable Development Organization organised the ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, Qasim Khan Suri said that SDGs should be normalized to an extent that we know them by heart so that they are reflected in our actions and daily life. “Being the future of the country youth should be following them in letter and spirit. This will help us stand in the queue of developed nations,” he added.

PRCS holds blood donation camp

PRCS holds blood donation camp Islamabad February 4, 2021 Islamabad : The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) organised a donation camp here in F-7 Markaz on Wednesday to help address serious shortage of blood amid depleted donations due to Coronavirus pandemic. National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri was chief guest on the occasion. PRCS Chairman Abrar ul Haq and other senior officials were also present at the camp. Speaking on the occasion, Qasim Khan Suri said thousands of people have lost lives to Covid-19; however, many more lives are at risk due to blood shortages. Patients at risk include those suffering from leukemia, thalassemia, hemophilia, anemia, or those undergoing critical surgeries or sustaining injuries in road accidents. He welcomed the PRCS initiative of setting up blood camps and urged all segments of the society to wholeheartedly help PRCS in this humanitarian cause.

Digital media influencers training concludes Islamabad February 2, 2021 Islamabad:Exclusive workshop on ‘Multiplying Thoughts: Narratives and Storytelling in a Digital World’ workshop by Pak Afghan Youth Forum (PAYF) concluded with an aim to improve bilateral relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan via narrative building and positive projection by social media influencers. PAYF Director Salman Javed in a concluding ceremony highlighted that the whole purpose of this media workshop was to bring together Pakistani digital media influencers and have them interact while learning about the importance of narratives and the risks of exploitation. The initiative hopes to enable deeper understanding and responsibility when it comes to popular young influencers and digital journalists.
