(CARLI BERRY / iNFOnews.ca) The latest outbreak at Kelowna General Hospital has been declared over by Interior Health. Two patients and one staff member are linked to the outbreak in ward 3E at Kelowna General, according to an Interior Health media release. One person died as in the outbreak. “The best thing we can do to protect ourselves and our community against COVID-19 is to get vaccinated, Interior Health president and CEO Susan Brown said in the release. If you haven’t received your first dose yet, I encourage you to visit one of our clinics today.” People can register and book vaccinations on the Get Vaccinated website here, or by calling 1-833-838-2323.

June 15, 2021 - 3:20 PM B.C. health officials announced 108 new cases of COVID-19 today, 37 of which are within Interior Health, for a total of 146,561 since the pandemic began. There are currently 1,496 active cases of COVID-19 in the province and 139 people hospitalized, 39 of whom in intensive care, according to a joint statement issued by provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix today, June 15. There have been no new COVID-19 related deaths overnight, leaving the death toll at 1,734 deaths. Also, the virus outbreak at Kelowna General Hospital is now over. As of today, 76.1% of all adults in B.C. and 74.4% of those 12 and older have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. In total, 4,102,905 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in B.C., 657,491 of which are second doses.
June 15, 2021 - 4:16 PM While there have been no new cases of COVID-19 this month at a Kelowna care home, the death toll has climbed by one to 12. There have been 48 cases of the virus connected to the outbreak at Spring Valley long-term care in Kelowna, including 36 of the 150 residents, according to an Interior Health media release issued today, June 15. Interior Health has not said if all the deaths are among residents of the care home. Currently, it s the only outbreak in the health authority now that the most recent one at Kelowna General Hospital has been declared over. B.C.’s COVID-19 updates for June 15
Dr. Bonnie Henry, B.C.’s provincial health officer, and Adrian Dix, Minister of Health, have issued the following joint statement regarding updates on the COVID-19 response in British Columbia.
Today, we are reporting that 76.1% of all adults in B.C. and 74.4% of those 12 and older have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. In total, 4,102,905 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in B.C., 657,491 of which are second doses.
We have had 108 new cases of COVID-19, including four epi-linked cases, for a total of 146,561 cases in British Columbia.
