The Wooster American Legion Post 68 presented the colors and played taps while Sgt. Cory Daughtery with the U.S. Marines delivered a short prayer for the residents gathered outside the Sprenger Health Care facility. At least 20 residents walked or were wheeled out to sit in the sun or under the overhang to observe. I liked it. It was well worth coming out to see, said Gary Sloan, who served in the U.S Marine Corps from 1970 to 1972. Sloan helped start the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program in Wooster and organized the event for eight years before moving into the care center for health issues.

U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell made a stop in Pikeville April 8 to visit Pikeville Medical Center (PMC) and discuss the medical centerâs COVID-19 vaccine distribution efforts.
âI want to thank Donovan Blackburn (PMC CEO) and his entire team as Pike County has done better than any other county in Kentucky in getting the vaccine administered to people,â McConnell said. âIf youâre a football fan you know what the red zone is. Itâs the last 20 yards before the end zone and today in Pikeville I think we can safely say weâre in the red zone but weâre not in the end zone yet.â
